OOC and Endings

A long time ago, roleplay saved me from myself and my depression. Recently it has become the source of the latter. I know it's probably already clear but I have quite rping, not just on this journal but all my roleplay journals.

It's a shame it all came to this, but the sort of backstabbing and duplicitousness that used to be rare when I began has become so commonplace that it is choking out the fun that rp should bring.

I do hope that everyone has fun and finds the enjoyment that rp should bring. I just can't find it in public, open roleplay anymore.

Good luck and remember - it's supposed to be fun.

Lucky 13

32.2 - 13 things on your Christmas wishlist.

1. To not be locked in a building with Gabriel again.
2. That one of my boys had actually been like Gabriel.
3. That Adam was still alive.
4. To have custody of my grandsons.
5. That I had kept Peter and Nathan on a tighter leash.
6. That I had seen Arthur's body creamted with my own two eyes.
7. For a new facility for the Company.
8. To know where Peter is.
9. To find Nathan.
10. To have been there to watch Pineheart burn.
11. That Tracy has a delightful accident, preferabally a fast drive over a tall cliff.
12. To have the Haitian back here.
13. To thank Claire for choosing everyone else over me.

31.1 - 13 things you'd like to pass onto your children.
A slight twist: 13 things I wish I had passed onto my children

1. Common Sense
2. Nerves of steel
3. A backbone
4. A less restrictive moral code
5. A better father
6. The ability to see past their father's lies
7. In Peter's case, less humanity
8. Not empathy
9. A desire to see a brighter future
10. More familial loyalty
11. A greater understanding of the world
12. The ability to see the big picture
13. The knowledge that sacrifice is sometimes needed

MI: December Week 1

List five times you got in trouble because of toys. (Naughty or Nice)

1. When I fell in love with Arthur though I was only meant to ensure his loyalty.
2. When I sent Gabriel away. Arthur swears it was my own weakness but I felt it was for the boy's own good. I have been known to make one or two mistakes.
3. That Arthur's poorly acted upon heart attack didn't turn out to be quit as fatal as I thought.
4. Allowing others to destroy things at Kirby Plaza. If I ever have a chance to get my hands on Kaito again, I will be certain he pays for that son of his.
5. [Meta/AU]Worrying about stopping Arthur before sending Gabriel to save Adam before he ends up dust. For a gentleman in hell, he certainly does complain a lot.

29.1 - 13 wishes you've made.

1. He was older, sleek and dangerous and driving a car that probably cost more than everything she owned. He smiled and Angie was certain something in her broke and only he could fix it. Staring up at the night sky she closed her eyes as tight as she could. "Starlight, starbright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight." Taking a deep breath she barely whispered the name she'd heard the other girls at school sharing. "Adam Monroe."

2. His name was Arthur Petrelli and she had one task. Bring him into the group. Adam trusted her to do this for him, no matter what it took and Angie stared up at the sky and wished as hard as she might that she could make Adam proud of her.

3. He was strong, so strong. Even without the ability that left her breathless with the implication, he was a dynamic man that left he trembling and Angie wished he actually could fall in love with her.

4. The cramps were mild but evident and the spotting had been going on for two days. Two days and the doctors had told her to accept it might be over but Angela had a few hopes left and she was willing to use up every wish to ensure her first child wasn't lost.

5. He was big, sturdy and Angela wasn't certain no body, no human body, was made for this. She wanted to be out like a light. She wanted to be done. She wished he'd be born already.

6. It was over. Kaito had made his stand and none had opposed him. Some, like Arthur and Daniel, had made that choice due to their own agendas. Others, like Angela, because she hadn't felt she had support in it all. Victoria's hand rubbed lightly at her back. "I wish they'd locked me up with him,' she whispered, feeling her friends arms tighten around her.

7. Smaller than Nathan had been but there was two of them and Angela swore she was never, ever going to do this again. Not when she had only one thought. Please, Dear God, I wish I was unconscious.

8. Murderous. Dangerous and violent. The dream had shown it all. Night and day, dark and light. She loved them both but she knew it couldn't be and as she watched them take Gabriel away, Angela wished one day he'd be better and could come home.

9. Angela stared into Daniel's eyes as she gave him the okay to heal her mind, and she wished beyond all else that he was wrong.

10. So many pieces, a puzzle of a million pieces and all it took was one piece to be missing for it to all fall apart. Angela just wished Kirby Plaza was over.

11. Nathan was asleep, the painkillers kicking in, and Peter was missing. Gabriel was with the Company, somewhere, and they wouldn't tell her where. Arthur and Daniel were gone and Adam had escaped. Angela stood by Nathan's bed and wished for it to all be over.

12. Hiro had gone for him and never come back. He was gone and she couldn't find him, not locked in her own head by Arthur's mind, not when she was free and seeking a single dream to show her where he was. Closing her eyes, Angela wished once more she might see where Adam was.

13. The eclipse was coming and it was now or never. They would want Claire, the catalyst and Angela wasn't certain even a father's love could keep her safe. If Arthur got Claire, it was over and Angela wished she could get a single clear vision of how it was all going to end.

For Album Concepts - Mild Spoilers

Awake or asleep, ev'ry mem'ry I'll keep
Deep in a dream of you.

He's watching her again. He thinks she doesn't know it, that the distance and the people and the activity will keep her from noticing but she always does. No matter if its in Texas or at a party in New York like the one they're currently attending he's always watching.

She always knows.

Daniel thinks he's subtle. Angela thinks she's coy. Both watching the other and neither willing to accept the truth. Their gazes have never met. They have never touched accidentily in passing. She is Arthur's bride, his wife of so many years. Daniel is his best friend, the man he got through war with, and then endured the hell of returning to a country that presented them as villains. She was in love with another. He was mourning his one true love. There was no reason for them to watch one another.

He watched her with as much affection as pity. He knew what Arthur had done to her, what he'd stopped her from doing. He knew how the man she loved disrespected her by putting his own desires and needs before her own. She knew that Daniel was nothing more than her husband's puppet, his court jester to carry out his every whim.

She was in love with a man that saw her as a weapon in his arsenal, a weapon that he loved and cherished. He was a minion, trusted and needed. Another time and another place they might have found love and respect. Instead they had found themselves part of a twisted web of Machiavellianism run by a man they both loved even as they feared him, craving his respect even as they knew they would never have it. Not truly. Not wholly. They could find love with what they had, even companionship as well. But the respect they showed Arthur was never returned. And so he watched her, positive she never knew.

She always knows.

Random fic

[Backstory, no spoilers and from my own imagination. Not binding on any muses]

Fandom: Heroes
Pairing: Angie and Vicki
Warning: Uhmmm, per Cristine Rose's belief, Angie tends to be a bit of a slut so deal with it.
Also, not so much porn as just sadness.

"Stop squirming!"

Angela laughed then. Whether at Victoria's soft, hushed tones or at the words themselves was unclear but she couldn't hold back the soft giggle. Covering her mouth with her hand, she still couldn't stop the sound. Victoria decided to stop that by pulling away her friend's hand and kissing her. It started as a small tease, just enough to distract Angie, but it turned into something deep and needy.

It always amazed Angela how different it was kissing Victoria over the others. Not that any two kisses were the same. Adam kissed like what he was, a man that had forever. He could turn a single kiss into an hour long moment as if the world had come to a standstill. Arthur's kisses were always about control, a subtle threat buried beneath sensuality. Daniel kissed her like she was a precious thing though she knew he only saw her that way because she was Arthur's.

All kisses were different, unique to the people kissing. Kissing Victoria went beyond that. There was never a feeling that she was seeking more from the kiss, never a moment when Angela wondered what she was thinking about or planning. When they kissed it was just between them, for them, without subterfuge or secrets. Except the very secret that they were kissing. It always amazed her how Arthur could accept Angela's affairs with two of his friends, yet he was threatened by Vicki. Amazed her but didn't surprise her.

Angela loved Arthur. She was in love with Adam. Daniel and Kaito were delightful distractions whom she cared for. Should Arthur ever demand she choose, society be damned, she would ask Vicki to leave with her. Even now, pressed between the wall and the slight form of her friend, Angela considered asking Victoria to leave with her. They could take what they could care and run, run until the company and the boys and the virus was long behind them. They could run until they found a place where they could be together, and be themselves and kiss like this every moment of every day until the world disappeared and they were all that remained. It was the perfect dream, the ideal that kept her going even beyond the pain and the threats and the fear.

'Angela, I'm leaving."

The words pierced through not only Angela's thoughts but her heart.

"Victoria, please..."

"I can't stay here, Angie. I need... I can't stay here. Promise me you won't follow me." She kissed Angela again, soft and tender and with more love than passion. "He'd kill us both and... and I couldn't live knowing I was why you died. Please, let me go."

Angela could deny Victoria nothing and this would not be the first. Not even if it meant so much within her dying that day, changing, a new woman born from the ashes of love lost.

[Answers are both meta and rather on the side of sarcasm]

26.1 - 13 of the most romantic things someone has done for you.

1. Claimed me as their own.
2. Hidden their affair with me.
3. Assured me that I'm nothing like his wife - Less with the sarcasm on this one. I would have likely committed suicide if I thought I was like her.
4. Asked me to go and seduce someone else for him.
5. Gotten upset when I fell in love with the man he told me to seduce.
6. Threatened to kill me if I left him.
7. Constantly touched me tenderly and with a cold smile.
8. Claimed me as their own, not knowing about the earlier claim.
9. Sent me flowers weekly - there's no sarcasm on this one.
10. Proved to our son why he couldn't be trusted.
11. Proved to our other son why he couldn't be trusted.
12. Didn't kill me when he had the chance.
13. Locked me in my own mind. I'm sure he thought it was for my own good.

ETA: For the record these do not all refer to the same man. Four men, actually.

I would like to begin by saying I am not happy in the least with these two prompts. Some of us do not indulge in candy on a regular basis and my sexual proclivities are my own. Not all listed are Halloween but they're my favorite chocolates.

25.1 - 13 of your favorite Halloween candies and why.
1. Christopher Norman choclates - Baroque Brownies - These are heaven and sin in brownie form.
2. MarieBelle New York - Mini tote - Too adorable. I had them as a placecard at a party once and fell in love.
3. Lake Champlain chocolates - Truffle Obsession - Dark and milk with assorted fillings. Organic as well.
4. Lake Champlain chocolates - Chocolate peanut butter leaves - Chocolate and peanut butter. Need I say more?
5. Romanicos Chocolates - Champagne truffles - I believe these explain themselves.
6. Romanicos Chocolates - Wasabi and Honey Chocolate bar - Sharp and sweet and hot and perfect blending.
7. L.A. Burdick's chocolate ghosts - Milk and white and cute.
8. L.A. Burdick's coffin - Ghosts and moons and chocolate all in a black coffin.
9. Vosges Chocolates red fire skull - They're chocolate in the old tradition of chile peppers in them. Delightful.
10. Vosges Chocolates New Orleans bar - New Orleans chicory coffee + cocoa nibs + Sao Thome bittersweet chocolate. Such a jolt.
11. Recchiuti Confections Halloween motif box. I like the designs on them.
12. Payard's Trick or Treat genache macaroons. Do I even have to explain why?
13. Christopher Norman's Suspicious cat - Dark chocolate with white chocolate accents throughout the "fur". Adorably cute and delicious.

museimagination: October Week 3 - Curse

It was a curse Angela had known more times than she wanted to count. This was a punishment meted upon her before. By Adam. By Kaito. By Arthur himself on more than one occassion. Maury was one of the few with an offensive power, one that could be used not for the benefit of the company but against those within the inner circle.

Even as she lay there, Angela found herself lost between two worlds. Caught between the vision that Maury had cast her into; a world of darkness and death where there was little but the pain and suffering of those Angela loved and the reality of where she was. Of being unmoving, unable to speak or even so much as move her eyes in response to her sons, to those of the Company. She could hear Gabriel, feel the touch of his hand against her own, she could even see him when he leaned far enough over her yet she could do nothing to reassure him that she was still within her body.

If Arthur wished her dead, she would be. It was the only consolation afforded Angela at the moment. He could have had her killed, could have taken the visions from her that he was apparently worried she might share with others. Had Arthur wanted her dead, Angela would be. That he'd left her alive was more frightening than the trap in which she currently lived.

OOC

So I'm at work, writing prompts and listening to Picket Fences. And I'm listening and notice I'm hearing Angela talking about sex and going limp...

I had so forgotten she was Lydia. So watching her with long hair, being called a tramp while she smokes - which is something I find sexy as hell - and it so has me giggling imagining her having a sex talk with Nathan or Peter.

For justprompts - It's just an illusion.

[What follows is the beginning chapter of an AU roleplay with changehistory. It is based on canon events but from this posting on will go into an AU verse. Angela will continue to have canon prompts and posts as well. Tags with be Canon: Verse & Reclaiming: Verse]

She would have called it divine retribution if not for two things. Despite all her years at Catholic mass, Angela wasn't quite sure she believed in a divine being. Then there was the fact that nothing that had been touched by divinity had a hand in what she was currently enduring.

It wasn't the indignity of the coma but the way that her captor used it to continue her torment.

Images of Arthur, bedridden and sick. Of this facility they were running, the army they were trying to amass. He was taunting her as he always had, only this time he had the upper hand and she had no one to protect her. It wasn't enough to wear her down physically though, to keep her as a prisoner to their plans. Maury wanted revenge, against Angela, against the Company, and Arthur provided him with that opening.

Nothing seemed to change Adam's demeanor. Always beneath the anger, the determination, the dangerous manipulation that could convince you to walk smiling to your own death, through it always there had always been that bravada, that swagger that showed he was in control. Even in the cell he'd still held that same demeanor. Now, walking down the hall of that unknown facility with one of the escapees, he still walked with that self assurance. Nothing ruffled Adam's feathers for long.

Until he saw Arthur lying in that bed. In her dream Angela felt the terror, she could see the fear written on Adam's face and knew, even before it happened, what was to come. In her mind she screamed, pure and primal and filled with loathing and love. She screamed until she couldn't hear anything but her own screams, even over the pounding of her heart. Yet all she saw was the gray dust amongst the cloth, the mortal remains of her first love giving his life to her husband's megalomania and power.

In her dreams Angela sobbed and wailed, tears drenched the front of her shirt and her hands banged at some invisible wall she couldn't get past. Yet her mortal body remained perfectly still. Her breathing was shallow, no ragged sobs to fill the room. Open eyes remained dry and unseeing as they stared at the ceiling.

Within was another story. As the vision faded and Maury granted her a reprieve from the torture of seeing Adam's body swept away as if it were nothing, Angela gathered her strength. What she needed to do was something she hadn't done in years, not since she was young and strong. Then determination had fueled her, now it would be desperation.

Allowing the coma to overtake her, she entered once more into those dream realms. Dark halls that she now knew, flickering green light she knew to be the sickly jealousies of a man she thought dead. She saw the mutilated corpse of her love, the twisted body of her youngest son, the prone form of her most devoted child.

Rushing to Sylar's side, dream hands shook his astral self, seeking to find some semblance of awareness in empty eyes.

"Gabriel!"

The word was not actually spoken and yet it shook the room. Amber brown eyes snapped open, staring up with wild panic. His hands clutched, still bound by the bonds of his physical body.

"Listen to me,' she whispered, leaning over him as she had in those moments she told him of his parentage. "You have to listen, I don't have much time."

Leaning down, she whispered into his ear, praying that the words of his dream self could penetrate the drug haze of the coma. She prayed to a God she wasn't sure she believed in that this would work, that Gabriel could save them all. She couldn't spare a thought for the possibility it wouldn't work. She couldn't spend a moment without the belief that Gabriel could and would do as she told him. If he failed Adam would only be the first death.

If he failed, the world would end.

Unmoving on her bed, Angela's blank eyes stared at the ceiling. Blood showed, bright and telling, as it trickled from her nostril.
